Hilarious in hindsight

It's not my party and I'll cry if I want to

We’ve all been there – the supermarket meltdown, the strop at the leisure/garden centre doors, food on the wall, hand in the face.. Some days it’s enough to bring you to your knees. But then there are occasionally tantrums that start up for completely random reasons which are actually quite funny looking back.

The other day we went to Alice Holt Forest in Hampshire to celebrate my nephew’s third birthday. There are three months between him and EJ (EJ’s birthday is not til July) so there was a certain amount of stroppiness from my little one who didn’t like the fact that all the good stuff was aimed at his cousin not him. O came along with his new balance bike which EJ took a bit of a shine to and could only be briefly distracted by me producing his own scooter from the boot of the car. For a brief period they whizzed around together happily.

Wicked Wednesdays – come baaaaack!!

Scooting into the distance

That moment when you realise that you probably shouldn’t have given your two year old access to a very nippy scooter – as he disappears into the distance, heading rapidly for a massive pond…

Wicked Wednesdays: when bedtime routines go bad…

I realise that this little montage shows everyone laughing and all good fun but by God it’s the most chaotic, nutty, manic time of day which inevitably ends in someone getting either head-butted, flying off the side of something and getting well bumped on the way down, my poor knees/tummy/boobs getting either elbowed, kicked or kung-fu chopped, tears and screaming, lots and lots of screaming. Then we all sit down together and read Each, Peach, Pear, Plum. Sigh.

Wicked Wednesday #2 – cheeky boy!

Wicked Wednesday 2

With this lovely weather we’ve been making the most of our lovely back garden. We’ve just bought a new trampoline (which they’re both loving except when JJ decides to jump so hard that EJ ends up screaming his head off!) and we’ve got a decent size rectangular paddling pool with a Little Tikes slide placed right into it for a home lido effect 😉 The hubster keeps leaving them out with the hose on to re-fill the pool and EJ is obsessed with it! Trying to approach him or walk past is like running the gauntlet! I have ended up completely soaked on more than one occasion! Just look at his cheeky little face here! He know’s he’s a cheeky monkey 🙂 Can’t work up the energy to be too annoyed with him though…
