About

March Melfie

My name is Sam and I am a mother of two gorgeous little monkeys, JJ and EJ, Sept 2009 & Jul 2012 – so right in the thick of it still!

Currently living in on the Surrey/Hampshire borders, I grew up in South West London (Teddington) and I still spend a significant amount of time with family in London – my second home.

I am educated up to masters level but I don’t have a Masters level career – what can I say? I love learning!

I work part-time and wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m not one of those earth mother naturals who’s maternal instinct kicked in at the age of 18 (obviously!) and I enjoy having some time away from the monkey enclosure a few days a week – it brings a bit more of a sense of work/family balance (if not work/life balance – that to me implies time for oneself outside of the workplace and there is precious little of that at this stage!).

I want to talk food, I want to talk books, movies, be able to answer the eternal question “where we going in morning, Mummy?” and about what its like to live with a man obsessed with gym-going.

This blog is intended to be irreverant. Hopefully witty. Possibly insightful. Probably a little self-indulgent – who’s blog isn’t?

  6. Hello! I’m SO glad to hear that I’m not the only one whose children interrogate them on a daily basis about what they’re doing “after the night”…
Looking forward to having a good look around your blog!

    • Hi Catherine – welcome! I’m still getting bombarded with questions about what’s on the agenda from my eldest and he’ll be seven this year! Hope you enjoy the rest of the blog X
